When a San Francisco homeowner needed dependable heat, we carried out a Carrier furnace installation that replaced a worn-out unit with a new 80% two-stage gas furnace. The tight utility closet made for a careful fit, so we rebuilt the venting and gas connections cleanly and left the homeowner with quiet, even warmth throughout the house.
What we installed
The new Carrier furnace is an 80% efficiency, two-stage model — a great match for a mild-winter city where the heat runs often but rarely at full blast. Two-stage operation lets the furnace run long, gentle cycles on low most of the time, which means steadier temperatures and quieter airflow. We fit it into the existing closet beside the water heater and reconnected everything to code.
- Removed the old furnace and prepped the closet
- Set and secured the new 80% two-stage Carrier furnace
- Rebuilt the flue and combustion venting
- Reconnected the gas supply with a new flex connector and shutoff
- Tied the furnace back into the existing ductwork
