Your local HVAC team in East Palo Alto
East Palo Alto sits on the warm bay side of the Peninsula, where summers bring genuine heat and winters call for dependable, efficient heating - a combination that makes modern heat pump technology a natural fit for the city's family homes. Nur HVAC handles heat pump installation, air conditioner installation, furnace installation, and ductless mini-split installation throughout East Palo Alto.
Bay-side warmth means East Palo Alto gets enough summer heat to justify a real cooling solution, yet mild-to-cool winters make a dual-purpose heat pump far more cost-effective than separate heating and cooling equipment. East Palo Alto is in San Mateo County, so homes here can qualify for WestLight Energy (formerly Peninsula Clean Energy) heat pump rebates, including extra money for CARE/FERA households.

HVAC built for East Palo Alto homes
We install across East Palo Alto's neighborhoods - University Village, Woodland Park, the Gardens area, Ravenswood, and Four Corners - serving a housing stock that's largely post-war single-family homes and smaller multi-units built in the 1950s through 1970s. That era of construction typically means aging forced-air furnaces, undersized duct systems, or no ducted system at all, which makes ductless mini-split installation a practical and rebate-eligible path for many households. Rental properties and owner-occupied homes alike benefit from right-sized, energy-efficient systems that lower monthly utility bills in a community where operating costs matter.

“We recently hired Nur HVAC to install a Mitsubishi heat pump HVAC system and were very satisfied with their service. Artur was our project manager and provided a thorough quote with different options based on our needs. He was very responsive and always answered our questions patiently throughout the entire process. Their price was quite competitive among the contractors we evaluated while the quality of their work was excellent. Maksim and Konstantin who came to install the system were highly experienced, pleasant and efficient. The office staff was also very responsive and kind to provide updates and help with rebate application. We would highly recommend Nur HVAC to anyone who is looking for a reliable contractor for heat pump HVAC system installation.”

“We could not be happier with Nur HVAC. They installed 2 HVAC systems in our home and have been absolutely fantastic ever since. Whatever an issue comes up they respond quickly and get it fixed without delays. They are reliable, professional, knowledgeable and always willing to help. It's such a relief to have someone we can trust to take care of our home's electrical and HVAC needs. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable professional who truly stands behind its work!”

“Our 25+ years old gas furnace ran into issues and we could have just replaced the part and limped along for a while. We decided to do a like-for-like replacement...we got a quote (I won't mention the name of the vendor) and got a quote for a Bryant a/c/ gas furnace (lower than the Carrier a/c that we had) and the quote was pretty high ~ $25K and NO REBATES (this person did not even offer us the option of a heat pump). Our son suggested going to Yelp to get a project quote given we were spending so much money - from the 8 companies we talked to we zeroed in on Irbis and NUR and both companies were solid. Our main reason for going with NUR were the following : 1) With NUR we dealt directly with the Owner not a sales team : David - he is a no-nonsense, straight shooter who is extremely knowledgeable about all things HVAC. 2) Offered the right spec and quality of machine - He told us we should go with the Heat Pump (replace gas furnace) given we had solar and he offered us the complex split zoning for our single family house. Upgraded our carrier a/c to a Mitsubishi Heat Pump (see picture) 3) Reasonable Quote, High Quality work - He offered us an extremely reasonable quote for a high end heat pump, his technicians were top notch. Igor and Mikhail were brilliant - they spent a week at our place and were so polite, skilled and unobtrusive. They cleaned up after themselves every single day that they came in. 4) Helped me get the $3500 rebate from Peninsula Clean Energy 5) After install customer service is brilliant. I am doing this review after a month but these guys are beyond amazing when it comes to responsiveness to any questions or concerns. If I do any replacement of my HVAC and water heaters in the future - I will not look beyond NUR - they have my business for life”

What our customers say on Google
“Nur HVAC went above and beyond with my HVAC installation. They are real professionals! From the very beginning, they matched my comfort level during the estimates process, even providing rough quotes in advance. Their manager arrived exactly on time—to the minute, as scheduled. The prices they offered were competitive. Both their office team and manager patiently answered all my questions. They revised the plans three times to accommodate my requests and responded promptly and thoroughly to all my inquiries via phone, text, or email. The technicians worked incredibly quickly, listened carefully, and implemented all my preferences. They were even willing to take on additional, time-consuming work without charging extra. They cleaned up after themselves and always showed up exactly when they said they would. Nur HVAC also handled all the paperwork for rebates and suggested several ways to optimize my HVAC system. They highlighted the most cost-effective options, factoring in rebates, energy efficiency, and overall costs. This is an incredibly professional company. If all contractors were like Nur HVAC, the world would truly be a better place! Thank you, Nur HVAC!”
“Our old A/C unit went out (dramatically spewing coolant everywhere) in the middle of summer. We contacted Nur HVAC and got them to come take a look at the situation. They recommended replacing our old furnace with a new heat pump along with the new A/C unit. It took a few weeks for a permit, but then they scheduled the job promptly. It was very labor intensive...removing the old equipment, building a new platform with plywood, installing everything. It took 3 full days, but they did an excellent job and cleaned everything up completely when they were finished. The system looks and works so much better now. Workers were polite and respectful. Would definitely recommend.”
“I had an old furnace replaced with a new heat pump and air handler. I was impressed by their initial on-site inspection: the representative noticed that the new air handler would be wider than the existing one, which would require that our water heater be moved several inches for clearance. No other company noticed that. Overall, communication was excellent. They answered all questions and provided the city work permit application number so I could track approval process with the city. Work went smoothly and was finished in a few days, much sooner than what I had anticipated. Very good experience, would recommend to anyone.”
“Summary: great value, high quality install that paid attention to details, owner and employees listen to and value customer feedback, clean work, high integrity business, responsive and communicative Normally one would not describe their heating and cooling equipment as a work of art, but I hope to change your mind after describing how Fedor, Aleksander, David, Artur, and the rest of Nur HVAC did an impeccably beautiful install of a new heat pump and new ductwork, removal of old gas furnace, and removal of old asbestos ducts. Throughout the process, they made me feel like a highly valued customer. I would recommend them with zero hesitation to anyone looking for an honest and diligent HVAC contractor that performs top-notch work. [Sales experience] I shopped around various HVAC contractors on Yelp, and I was fortunate to have Nur HVAC respond. David, the owner, came out to give me a quote, and I immediately had a great first impression of him and Nur. David was highly knowledgeable in HVAC, and he listened to me and what I wanted as opposed to trying to push me a hard sale. David is a rare gem in the HVAC industry, where instead of trying to upsell every chance, he actually thinks about what is needed, what's a waste of money, and he conducts himself with the utmost integrity to give the best recommendation for me and not his own pocketbook. The integrity and honesty of Nur is seen when they automatically included permits and HERS testing in the quote. I continued conversing with David, and he would always respond quickly and professionally. At the end of the day, Nur came in with a very competitive bid, and it was an easy decision for me to choose them because of the rapport I developed with David. [Install experience] My install team was Fedor and Aleksander, and I cannot overstate how awesome they were. They showed up punctually every day at 9am in the morning and worked until 6pm in the evening until the whole job was completed. The pride that they took in their work is immediately apparent: the work was not rushed, no corners were cut, they made sure to do everything right all the way down the finest details, and they made sure to clean up every small speck of dust and dirt. For example, when putting in the new vents: they applied several sealant coats inside the vent box to make sure that the ductwork would not leak conditioned air to increase system efficiency. When they finished, they cleaned my attic and made it spotless. Fedor and Aleksander entertained my curiosity in the work and were more than happy to take my feedback and requests, which is further evidence that they actually enjoy the work and have a customer-first approach to their job. For example, there was an audible humming heard inside the home when the outdoor unit was first powered on, and they quickly acted on my observation to add vibration dampening materials that made the noise go away. While making small talk with Fedor, I learned that he used to work in the HVAC industry before he came to America, which explains the expertise and perfectionism that he brought to my job. If you end up working with Nur, I unequivocally recommend you to request Fedor and Aleksander to work on your job, you won't be disappointed. [After install] Kseniia and Chinaza from the office ensured that the HERS tester and city inspector, who are third parties not affiliated with Nur, could be scheduled around my busy life. The HERS tester showed up on time, and he finished the HERS test within 30 minutes and told me that everything looked great. After this, Nur set up the city inspection so the permit could be finaled. Artur arrived on inspection day, and he helped ensure that the inspection process would be completed smoothly. The city inspector commented on how well done the install was, and he only had effusive praise for how well done everything was: the ducting, the air handler, the outdoor unit, the condensate line, and even how clean the attic was. On top of all of this, I am saving money on my utility bill!”
“Excellent service from start to finish. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. My technician Adlin, was excellent. He was very communicative and explained the status of the heating and air conditioning systems and what maintenance was needed for each. He checked the function of both systems thoroughly, replaced parts that had worn out, changed filters, added coolant, and fixed parts of the heating system that the original installer had missed.”
“Heat pump. Other than last year, when Nur installed a furnace for us in another zone of our home, this installation of a second unit-----a heat pump----was among the best home services ever provided. The people who come to our home were kind, competent, professional, and fairly priced. No Bay Area Premium Pricing. Extremely helpful advising which unit to select, and managing rebate process. Everything was transparent. Total high-quality work, would give 10 stars if I could.”
“We contacted 4 different HVAC companies about a heating problem in our home - unbalanced heating between different zones in the house. Islam showed up and he was the only one who actually took the time to understand the issue by actually measuring the airflow from the vents in each room. Unlike other companies whose solutions went from a wholesale replacement of our heating system to installing new ducts, etc. Isham proposed an incremental approach, starting with the simplest and most cost-effective solution. This cost us one to two orders of magnitude less than what we got from other companies. Islam was very professional and explained everything clearly. If the solution that he implemented does not fully solve our problem (time will tell) we know what the next step is. This is the right way to do business. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Nur HVAC. I'm sure I'll be using them again in the future.”
“Working with David and NUR was a wonderful experience. I changed out my gas water heater to a heat pump and my gas furnace to a more efficient one. David was exceptionally patient while I took over 6 months to decide on a system and never rushed me or pushed me to spend more money. In fact, when I changed my mind to a much less expensive system AFTER I already signed a contract and he had submitted a permit application, he completely supported my decision and didn’t act at all annoyed. After the units were both installed, he presented me a bill that was actually less than what he initially quoted because of different hardware used and a rebate he was able to get. His honesty is so refreshing. The work was done efficiently and the workspace was always kept clean when they left for the day. I continue with the high praises of this company and heartily recommend them!”
“This is the second project I’ve done with this team, and there’s a reason I keep coming back: Trust. When my water heater went out, Fedor showed up the same day to walk me through my options. I have a tendency to "over-buy," and I was actually leaning toward an expensive heat pump model. Instead of just taking the bigger check, Fedor was honest with me—he explained that the ROI on that specific unit wouldn’t be recovered in my lifetime given complex electrical work required. Once we picked the right system for my actual needs, he had a crew at my house within two days to finish the install. They were professional, clean, and efficient. It’s hard to find an HVAC company that values integrity as much as they do. They’ve earned a customer for life!”
“We needed new ducting under our house, which has an extremely small crawl space. It's so small, Nur's own team was shaking their heads just looking at it. But they squeezed in and got the job done. What's more, they adjusted each vent's air output very carefully in order to maximize efficiency. Nur HVAC just finished this week and, so far, the house feels much more uniformly heated than ever before!”
